Branded Vertical

Definition:

A branded vertical is where a microsite is on the same URL as the company’s main site.  Microsites tend to be used to host individual campaign/event promotional content or for regular, ongoing content, such as a blog. The main advantage of having a branded vertical is that the SEO ranking will be to the benefit of the company’s main site rather than a separate URL.

The Unbounce conversion marketing glossary is a branded vertical as it has its own navigation, but is on the unbounce.com under unbounce.com/conversion-glossary/.  Also see microsite.
